We heard from a wide variety of speakers and workshop presenters. The three keynote speakers' speeches are presented here, as well as the 3-session Intergenerational Poverty workshop and the Dialogue with DCED.

Caylin Moore:

By all rights, Caylin Louis Moore should be dead, in prison, or a gang member. Instead, he’s a Rhodes Scholar, author, speaker, and role model. In this inspiring keynote, drawn from his acclaimed book A Dream Too Big: The Story of an Improbable Journey from Compton to Oxford, Caylin Moore shares the story of his exodus from one of the most impoverished, gang-infested communities in the United States to becoming a Rhodes Scholar attending Oxford University in England.

Alan Jennings:

An advocate and a catalyst within Community Action, Alan is the Executive Director of the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley and soon-to-be-published author of The Pursuit of Fairness: Fighting for What's Right in a World That's So Wrong. Alan speaks of recent programs and reads passages from this autobiographical work.

Dr. Mike Thomson:

For the past 25 years, Dr. Mike Thomson has been described as A Master of Entertainment Comedy, Fun, and Learning” from small breakout sessions to being the keynoter at international conferences to his many LIVE radio and television appearances. “Dr. Mike” as he is known around the country, has a wide variety of work experience that spans from working in schools, law enforcement, and juvenile courts, as well as a supervisor in the department of Psychology & Psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic, along with directing drug alcohol treatment programs in Minnesota and Ohio….and even the first ever American run drug alcohol treatment program in Europe, located outside of Stockholm Sweden.
