Recruitment process underway for position to be available in spring 2012.
Chief Executive of Community Action Agency located in Reading, PA (berks County) with annual budget over $12 million. Program areas include Head Start, Weatherization, employment readiness, Parenting/Child Development, Budget/Home Ownership and others.
Candidate must have Bachelors degree or higher with at least 6 years experience in a related social services field. Must have understanding of federal and state grants procedures, familiarity with fund accounting, excellent computer skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to manage multiple programs and budgets, ability to identify new funding sources, experience in supervising staff professionals and ability to work with a non-profit Board of Directors, with political, business and human services professionals and also with the groups for whom we provide services.
Planning and analytical skills, creativity, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are necessary.
Candidate must also demonstrate commitment to the mission of Community Action and dedication to improving the lives of low income county residents.
