Highlight: Bridges Out of Poverty Training
The Bridges Out of Poverty Workshop offers agencies an innovative training experience that focuses on taking unique opportunities to counter poverty. The training aids agencies in searching out the economic and human impact of poverty and provides users with the tools to combat poverty’s adverse effects.
The seven-hour workshop is based off the book A Framework for Understanding Poverty by Dr. Ruby Payne. Dr. Payne is the founder of the organization Aha Process; the organization’s mission is to improve the lives of people in poverty by fostering sustainable communities.
The CAAP run Bridges Out of Poverty Workshop focuses on developing accurate mental models of poverty, middle class and wealth. The workshop also aims to assists front-line staff to build skills to improve relationships and recognize hidden rules to improve family, agency, and community outcomes.

An overview of the Result Oriented Management and Accountability system used by Community Action Agencies to measure effectiveness of the services offered to the local community. The course is an excellent introduction to ROMA for new Community Action board members and partners.
The course offers an overview on how to use the Poverty Simulation as an effective tool for advocacy in the community. The course assists viewers in structuring a simulation that aids in turning participants into advocates for helping low-income individuals in the community.
