Individually Unique Collectively Strong

April 18, 19 & 20, 2012
Holiday Inn Harrisburg East, Harrisburg, PA

Thank you to our attendees, sponsors and speakers for a wonderful 2012 conference. See you next year.

Welcome to the 2012 CAAP conference – Individually Unique Collectively Strong.

Each year the conference committee toils hard to bring a first rate educational and networking event to the membership. This year the group has outdone themselves, offering five dynamic general sessions, 24 stimulating workshops and numerous networking events.

The theme this year was chosen to celebrate the distinct elements of our member agencies while recognizing the collective power of the Community Action network.

Our environment continues to be challenging and changing and, while starting to rebound, the economy remains fragile. All of your personal and professional skills are needed to remain inspired to create the innovative and integrative changes necessary for people to transform and grow. Join us for three days of learning and networking opportunities as we seek to improve the “business” of caring for and working with low-income persons and families.

Our goal is to provide you with educational opportunities, information, and experiences integral to your work. Our robust agenda brings ample opportunities to learn and relax, with days full of stellar speakers to offer a variety of stimulating and timely information. The conference begins on Tuesday night with a welcome reception to rival any of the past - bring your appetite and dancing shoes. Our educational offerings kick off with a Keynote presentation that will inspire and challenge and the annual Self-Sufficiency Awards will open with a humorous look at our overworked and cluttered lives.

You will hear a first hand account on crisis management told through the lens of the Joplin, MI tornado disaster, a political update from Washington along with a forecast for the future of Community Action and insight into the motivation and implementation of state public policy. In between are 24 workshops, valuable Exhibitors, networking events, time to relax and dialogue with colleagues and opportunities for creative thinking to inspire your passion to create change.

We look forward to having you at the conference and thank you for coming. We offer special thanks also to our sponsors, exhibitors, advertisers and presenters, whose support makes this event possible. With all of you this year’s conference is sure to be a success.

See you in April!
