Rep. Dwight Evans -- Providing avenues of opportunity is at the core of the mission of Community Action Agencies. The federal earned income tax credit (EITC) is an immediate and effective way to assist the low-income. During the last legislative cycle PA State Representative Dwight Evans (D-Philadelphia) introduced HB1997 that would establish a state-based EITC. Representative Evans will share his vision for reintroducing this legislation and the positive effects it has to assist in the move to self-sufficiency. Sen. Jake Corman -- Pennsylvania State Senator Corman has built a career out of facing tough issues. Margaret Barajas-Brewer -- Pennsylvania Association of Latino Organizations. Teenage pregnancy leads Pennsylvania's youth down a dead end road that often includes living in poverty. The Pennsylvania Association of Latino Organizations (PALO), along with it's membership, have taken the issue head on. By working with young Latino women PALO has built a successful program that promotes abstinence through the self-esteem. She spoke on February 7, 2007. 37 minutes and 57 seconds.

Eugene Brady, Commission on Economic Opportunity of Luzerne County, and Lee Rinehart, National Center for Appropriate Technology. Since 1976 the National Center for Appropriate Technology has been serving economically disadvantaged people by providing information and access to appropriate technologies. Their largest and oldest project is ATTRA, the National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service, which is funded by the USDA-Rural Business Cooperative Service.
