Embracing Change
is a one and a half day conference focusing on the political,
legislative and policy issues that effect Community Action Agencies.

Working in systems in a constant state of flux, Community Action Agencies are exhorted to manage any and all
change affecting resources and need, benefits and cost, short and long-term perspectives and priorities. Often as
the result of regulatory, budgetary and/or legislative demands and expectations, CAAs face new challenges
and obstacles that must be met and overcome in order to continue service to others.

The 2006 elections saw some dramatic changes in the state legislative landscape. In addition to recognizing new faces and forging new relationships,
the change in House leadership can effect public policy, future initiatives and funding. These changes can be viewed as road blocks -
keeping us from our destination, or as detours - taking us on new paths and experiences. Learning to embrace the
change, and see the opportunities through the challenges, will enhance the primary work of Community Action.

The 2007 legislative conference will offer insight into the inner working of policy and legislation making in Harrisburg:
