WC10: Protecting your information, protecting your clients (IT&M)

Computer security is becoming more and more important, even for the smaller organizations. Viruses, phishing and spam are just the tip of security breaches that can compromise your agency's computer system. How do you ensure that confidential files, such as client and personnel records, are protected from malicious access? This workshop will provide some basic tips on creating internal controls to protect your agency's information as well as technical tools for securing your computer network system.
WC11: Transforming Community Action Training Series, Session 3 (B&L)
No plan, no big deal…right?

You know that having a community needs assessment plan is important, or do you? This session will cover the pitfalls encountered by not setting a direction for your agency. It will answer the questions: What are the consequences of not having a plan in place? and, How does it affect your agency, staff, community and those you serve?
This workshop is one of four that make up the third session of the Transforming Community Action Training Series sponsored by DCED, Center for Community Empowerment. Participants that attend three of the four workshops will receive a certificate of participation. Look for the

WC12: Reducing turnover and increasing retention=tips & tactics for supervisors (F&HR)

Staff turnover cost money and energy, often creating a domino effect throughout the agency. This workshop will provide tips to understanding the reasons for staff turnover and will present strategies for retaining employees.
WC13: Planting seeds of knowledge (E&T)

Supportive engagement and supported work program staff can join their peers for a collective discussion and networking opportunity. Gather and discuss the various issues and concerns with regional and statewide counterparts. Exchange ideas, common goals and new approaches in your regional group and then come together to share with the statewide network.
WC14: Executive Director's Roundtable (PP)
Immigration Policies and the Community

Deputy Secretary Klothen will discuss the role of immigration policies in the economic development of the community.
