Posted 2/20/09 CEO Wins National Weatherization Award Congratulations to the Commission on Economic Opportunity of Luzerne County (CEO) for receiving one of three National Weatherization Awards from the State and Local Energy Report Publication. CEO won the award for the agency’s outstanding efforts to weatherize homes in the northeastern region of Pennsylvania.In 2008, CEO weatherized around 1,500 homes, saving each household around $274 in heating costs. Since 1976, CEO has operated the program that installs attic and wall insulation and weather stripping while educating residents about efficient home heating. CEO will be honored in March at the National Association for State Community Services Programs Conference in Washington, D.C.
