CAAP Opens Online Training Center

10/25/2010 - Harrisburg, PA

CAAP is pleased to announce the launch of a new online training center. The new web-based training center features two courses that are offered at no cost. A simple online registration process is all that is necessary to participate in the courses.

The ROMA for Boards: An Introduction video course is an overview of the Result Oriented Management and Accountability system used by Community Action Agencies to measure effectiveness of the services offered to the local community.

ROMA helps agencies quantify the success of their programs and helps to determine where funding and resources should be allocated. With ROMA you and your agency receive a clear picture as to what constitutes a successful program and the outcome for the participating families and individuals.

The Poverty Simulation Advocacy & Outcomes video course is an overview on how to use the Poverty Simulation as an effective tool for advocacy within your community.

The Poverty Simulation is a jarring and often times emotionally stressful event that exposes participants to the world of raising a family with little or no assistance. This tutorial will help you structure your simulation so you can debrief your participants in a way that will turn them into advocates for helping low-income individuals in your community.

Both courses are presented in a video-lecture format. At the end of each video lecture a short test will be given. A personalized certificate of completion is provided at the successful conclusion of the course.
