Hilary Hunt, Office of Financial Education, Pennsylvania Department of Banking
Learn how the PA Department of Banking and the Community Action network can build a strong bond to assist the low-income residents of Pennsylvania. Ms. Hunt will provide an overview on the current and future initiatives of the Office of Financial Education. Her co-presenter, René Bryce-Laporte, will discuss the resources available to Community Action Agencies and how they can assist with client asset and financial management programs.

Hilary Hunt was appointed director of the Pennsylvania Office of Financial Education in April 2004 by Governor Edward G. Rendell. As director, Hunt oversees the office’s initiatives to increase the availability and quality of financial education in Pennsylvania’s schools, communities, and workplaces. Hunt currently serves as President of the Pennsylvania Jump$tart Coalition and is a member of the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Central Pennsylvania.

Hunt began her career in education as a secondary mathematics teacher in Virginia before moving to Pennsylvania in 1998. She has worked for a variety of economic and financial education organizations including EconomicsPennsylvania, the National Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, and the Foundation for Investor Education.

Hunt holds a degree in mathematics from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. She currently resides in the Harrisburg area with her husband and son.
